Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina today organised a mega health checkup camp at Strawberry Kids school at Purba Vivekananda Pally. Free eye checkup and diabetic screening was done for more than 300 people. Apart from the same, Dr. Rajani Agarwal, physician and Lion Dr. Sangeeta Kejriwal, Gynaecologist and member of the club screened patients for various ailments and free medicines distributed to the needy. Patients with major eye defects were referred to the Greater Lions Eye Hospital for free further treatment.

Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina today visited the poor and under privileged people in Ward No 41 at ITI Road, Bottle Company More on the 6th Day of the "Worldwide week of service to fight hunger" from the 8th to the 14th January and "One Multiple one District" activity. Members spent quality time with the under privileged and poor children, men and women. The hungry children were fed nutritious khichari, high calorie sweets and fruits. They were also educated upon basic hygiene and sanitation requirements. They were also asked to keep themselves clean and keep the area around them clean. Almost 500 people were served today.

Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina today visited the poor and under privileged people in NJP area on the 4th Day of the "Worldwide week of service to fight hunger" from the 8th to the 14th January. Members spent quality time with the under privileged and poor children, men and women. The hungry were fed nutritious food, high calorie sweets and fruits. Wollen Blankets were also distributed to the old and needy. Clothes were distributed to the underclothed. They were also educated upon basic hygiene and sanitation requirements. Small impromptu games were played with the children and performances done by many.
Permanent project

Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina is successfully running the permanent Free Homeopathic Project, the "Sanjeevani Homeopathic Centre". The centre was inaugurated on 14th January 2006 and is situated besides Munshi Premchand Degree College, 2nd mile Sevoke Road, Siliguri in the health post III of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Dr. S. Basu a well experienced homeopathic doctor is providing his services since last 10 years on a fixed monthly remuneration along with a nurse and sweeper. The Free Homoeopathic centre is open twice in a week, i.e. Thursday and Sunday where thousands of needy and underprivileged people are provided free doctor consultation and Free medicines throughout the year. About 250 To 300 people are benefitted every week. The yearly expenditure amounts to approximately Rupees One lakh annually.
Another permanent project, "Jagriti Kendra" is closed for renovation and maintenance at the moment. Yoga and self help training programs for the needy shall be started post renovation.

Lions club of Siliguri Greater Femina today celebrated Children's day at Bhanu Prathamik Pathsala , Chamakdangi . We distributed copies ,stationeries n snacks to the children. Tree plantation was also done at the school premises . We also sprinkled Bleaching powder around the school building as a small measure to prevent spread of dengue. We also distributed old toys n clothes to children of the village . The panchayat n school authority felicitated us by giving khada n putting nepali tikka.
DIABETIC CAMP

Lions club of Siliguri Greater Femina today organised an Diabetes detection cum awareness camp under 1 District 1 activity in the ongoing Diabetes week at Jhankar more . More than 100 patients were screened in a short span of 2 hours. The patients were screened for diabetes n blood pressure. Patients detected with diabetes n high pressure were advised further consultation with doctors and were advised about does n don'ts . Folders n pamphlet were given to patients to spread awareness about the disease . 12 members attended the camp including the president ln Asha Agarwal , secretary ln Nitu Agarwal , treasurer ln Renu Agarwal , project chairperson ln Neelam Goenka and other members. Special thanks to Ln Sumit Singhal and Kins care and diagnostic center for their support . The camp started at 8.30 am
